Ty Cerrig is a delightful, warm and cosy three bedroomed self-catering Welsh holiday cottage built in the second half of the nineteenth century for farmworkers on the nearby Glynlifion Estate. As a holiday base for exploring North Wales its location is hard to beat. The cottage is situated in the centre of the small village of Clynnog Fawr which is located about 10 miles in either direction from Caernarfon and Pwllheli on the northern side of the Llyn or Lleyn Peninsula.
The Llyn Peninsula is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of North Wales and an ideal destination for that relaxing holiday. Designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its myriad miles of beautiful beaches, outdoor activities, quaint villages and strong Celtic Christian tradition, the Llyn is truly a welcome throwback to a quieter more restful era encapsulating the unique Welsh culture and language of Wales.
The cottage is situated directly opposite the 15th century St. Beuno's Church, one of the most spectacular in North Wales and on the historic thousand-year-old Llyn Pilgrims' Route to Bardsey Island. A short ten-minute walk past the church takes you to the beach and on a clear and fine day some of the best sunsets you will ever witness.
The cottage at Clynnog Fawr is well placed for exploration of the Caernarfon Bay and Cardigan Bay coastlines as well as the interior of the Llyn Peninsula. The market town of Pwllheli is close at hand as are the coastal resorts of Abersoch, Aberdaron, Criccieth and Porthmadog. Anglesey is a 30-minute drive away and in little more time you can be exploring the castle and harbour at Conwy or strolling on the promenade at Llandudno.
